Dr Guy Tsafnat
Dr. Tsafnat is a Computer Scientist and as a Senior Research Fellow, leads the Computational Evidence Programme at the Centre for Health Informatics, Macquarie University. He is at the forefront of international efforts to automate evidence syntheses processes. His editorial on the automation of systematic reviews which has appeared in the British Medical Journal in 2013, has led to the formation of the International Collaboration for the Automation of Systematic Reviews (ICSAR) to promote the field and has been the basis for his own and others’ research programs and at least one start-up company (Evidence Prime, McMaster University, Canada) which is the official provider of the GRADE software for guideline development.
Co-led by CI Glasziou, Tsafnat and Prof. Hans Lund (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), and with over 30 members from 10 countries, ICSAR is set to transform evidence based medicine through interoperable analytic tools should see the time needed to answer clinical questions cut down from years to days.
He is also the CEO and Co-founder, Spokade Pty Ltd, Australia, a start-up company specialising in genomic analyses software.Dr. Tsafnat co-founded and helps lead the Macquarie University start-up incubator which specializes in social good enterprises such as healthcare and educational companies and NGOs.
